it's been too long. time goes running.

I have so much in folders, bookmarked, etc; pictures, notes.  I must get it all on here.  But for now, there's this.

ARTLIFE LIFEART.  Beauty in the street.  Art is everywhere, whether made by someone's hand or occurring just by being.

While walking in Oakland late at night I found a plastic bag that was ripped and contorted and thickened in a way, it had become another sort of being.  I traced it on a wall and painted it.  I was going to go back and touch it up just a bit, as the perfectionist I am, but it was gone before I saw it in the light.  The bag is in my car right now, being its art self.  I'm not finished with it yet.

Here is one of the proofs from my New Mexico trip.  This house was far away from everything.  It's colors juxtaposed with all the colors near it created a soft lightness, bright beauty.  All the rubble like beach stones.

Sylvia Sleigh, what can I say?  Bravo then and bravo now.  Bravo for all time.  RELEVANT.

I've been interested in the male nude forever, and have been thinking for the last few (or 7) years about how I really need to examine the subject more in my work.  I have made works here and there over the years, but never cohesively as a series.
Thanks for the much needed representation and inspiration, Sylvia, you did something magnificently groundbreaking.  I can't even begin to sit here and write about the extent of it.

Captivating favorites.  Renaissance obsessed.
