Life is short, the art long.
I forgot who said it, but it's a statement I've always carried with me. Art lectures, art documentaries, art images, art talks have kept me company and touched my heart over these covid years. I'm so grateful to engage in this way (thanks YouTube). It has brought me into knowledge that revisits senses I felt in my college days. I miss that time so much. Complete art absorption. I've longed for my life to be like that again ever since. I want to talk about it, make it, engage it, write about it, study it, learn history and new techniques, see it, hear it, move it, bathe in it, create alone and with others. Feel it inside me like loud music. Live it totally to the hilt, in every moment. That is not easy to do, especially alone, out of art school, without a community studio space - I miss Merchants of Reality! It's hard to keep much in San Francisco; art friends, art spaces. Art museums are my happy place, I don't know what I'd do without them. I must post all my visits from last year! Comments are closed.
